This week, the Summit County Assessor's office mailed out notices of valuation to Summit County property owners. The valuations will reflect the continued increase in property values since 2016. The county is now seeing that the average single-family home valued at $1.1 million. In Breckenridge, the value of a single-family home rose to $1.3 million.
As explained in the mailed valuation notices, you can appeal your valuation online, mail in or in person through the month of May. Online appeals may be filed through the website SummitCountyCO.gov/assessor until 11:50 p.m. on June 3rd.
Colorado taxpayers over the age of 65 as of Jan. 1, 2019, who have lived in their homes as primary residences for at least 10 years may also be eligible for the Senior Property Tax Exemption...so don't miss out if this applies to you!
